Well, I found out today, that I passed my background investigation.
Just about a month from initial interview to final interview.
I think the reason why my B.I. went so fast, is that I'm 23, have lived in the same place for 18 years and have had only 3 Jobs (all FT) since I started working.
C.T.C. III/IV - maybe? C'mon SPB!
Thanks to all on the site, as this has definitely helped me throughout the process thus far, and I hope for the site to be a future asset as well.
For those curious, here's my time line thus far.

Congrats. I bet that is a weight off your shoulders.
The backgound investigation is weird, you know you've done nothing wrong - but you still worry for some reason

Well... I've done pretty much everything I've been asked to do. I've passed all of the tests put forth to me...
Now I'm just waiting on the SPB to tell me if I'm in or not...
Much less stressful, knowing that you've done everything you can, the best you can - to try to put your best foot forward. Now my near term future is in the hands of the SPB.
BTW, my Oral Psych only took 1h.. it took longer to drive to Rancho Cucamonga, than it did to take the entire interview..

ha yeah mine only lasted about 45 min. i've had a pretty basic (boring) childhood/ work history. i figured the longer i rambled on the crazier i would sound.

congrats! I noticed you've done a lot of 'B' watch shifts.. see if you can't snag a 'C' watch. Nothing like getting a few deuces during the midnight hours.
Best of luck!

True! However, it's no fun riding in the back of a patrol car. While being an Explorer in my younger days (17-21) with the CHP, and having 50+ ride a longs in that period. In my humble opinion, I would say B watch had the most bang for my buck. That shift seemed to be the best of both worlds a little day time fun, and night time fun.

If you are lucky enough to manage a 'C' Watch Ride Along, what is the typical course of action if an arrest is made?

As an Explorer, I was not allowed to go on a "C" watch ride-along till I completed Level III training and had reached the age of 18 years old. They instructed us at that time the course of action that would be taken if such a situation arised. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to answer amid officer safety and CHP policy? So I'll let an officer answer this question.

Congratulations! None of my interviews took very long either. Like you, it took longer to drive to the site than it did to actually complete any of the interviews.
My ride along tool place during "B" watch and it was busy the entire time.

I went with a family friend back in December, and I sat next to the person they arrested in the back. They got to a point where they arrested three people. They had to call in another squad car, since there was no room for me in the back, to come get me so they wouldn't leave me in the middle of the street lol.
