A section of state Route 94 was reopened Friday morning after a fiery spectacle, 10News reported.

A truck, loaded with painting supplies and two pressurized carbon-dioxide tanks, ran over a mattress near Lemon Grove Thursday night.

A California Highway Patrol officer pulled the driver over to tell him that the mattress had caught fire. Within minutes the entire truck was ablaze. Then, gas spread on the pavement toward the CHP cruiser and set the cruiser on fire.

There were no injuries reported.
