I failed my psych exam with the doctor and applied to appeal it and it was granted. I have 90 days to get a new doctor and all that good stuff and get it back. Now my 90 days is coming up in the next few days and my doctor just got the stuff back from the SPB and the soonest the doctor can see me is in about a week, which will be past 90 days.

I contacted SPB and asked for an extension and of course I needed to write a letter which I am and am faxing it to them this evening. Now I have this question. The lady that was the only one to answer the question was not availible and now I am worried. I was told that after I send the letter it is reviewed by a manager and then they let me know. Now my question is how long is it going to take for it to be reviewed??? I don't have much time and if this request for the extension goes passed the 90 days am I SOL???? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't have any advice for you, but I am curious as to why you sat on your butt and let it go to the final few days before contacting anyone about it.

One thing you applicants must learn is that you and you alone are responsible for your own individual progress through the system.

Had you been the LEAST bit proactive, you would not now be faxing letters and asking for advice on an internet forum.

Just one man's opinion.

Well it was all taken care of and I got my extension.

I DID NOT sit on my butt and wait until the last minute. I did take three weeks to find the right doctor and I feel I found a great one. I sent the information to him to fill out as he requested. He then sent it in to the SPB and it took them over a month to send it back to the doctor.

I don't appreciate being stereotyped as a "lazy" applicant. I think this is the greatest opportunity and this is something I have always wanted to do.

Well then, I apologize if you felt that I stereotyped you as a lazy applicant. Good luck with your psych and the rest of your career on the highway patrol, I'm sure you will be just fine. I'm glad you are a proactive guy and have things under control better than some applicants seem to.

5246MPD4now - Who did you go to for the appeal interview. Would you please e-mail or IM me with the info. I am looking for someone to preform mine and I am having little luck finding someone.
