I spoke with a background investigator after filling out the standard question form (Have I ever done <insert offense here>) and at the time I put I had not ever stolen anything.

My mother reminded me after the interview that I had stolen a pack of baseball cards when I was something like 5 years old and I completely forgot about it. Would it be bad/look bad to call my BI and explain? Or am I screwed.

I would immediately turn yourself in to your local law enforcemnt agency and have them call San Quinton to see if they have a cell near Scott Peterson. Now in all seriousness, you can mention it to your BI to see what he says. When in doubt its always best to tell them about it before they find out. I can't imagine something like that disqualifying you. Now if you forgot to mention your 3 DUI's last summer and the auto theft case pending against you, he might be a little more concerned. I think your BI is concerned with what you have done recently not so much with what happened when you were 5:biggrin:

Unless someone caught you and convicted you, I wouldn't see why it would matter.

Haahaahaa...I recall reading in one of those test prep books about an applicant (no idea what department) who's BI told him that by the time he was done, he'd know if he was breast of bottle fed! And the BI DID find out this info! I basically feel that anyone who hasn't kept a diary since the day they wer born is hosed.
