i took the written test a few weeks ago in los angeles and it says "congratulations! you passed the written test with a score of 47.9 and have been selected to continue within the selection process for the cadet.
im just confused. i thought you needed 70% or better to pass the test? can someone fill me in, thanks :]

Why does it MATTER?:noidea: You passed, who cares what you heard or thought so long as you passed. 70% or higher is passing for the QAP not the written. Move on and prepare for the next step in the process. Good Luck!

47.9 is your T-score through POST, the test is scored differently than percentages. Most people seem to be getting high 40's through to high 50's, so you did good . I can't remember exactly how the T-score thing works, maybe someone else on here could explain it for you. Or you could always look it up on the internet . Anyways, goodluck in the rest of the process!

You only have to take it again if your stool sample comes back negative.

Alas, I was joking about the stool sample. But you might want to offer one to background investigator if you're nervous about it.
By the way, congrats to you for passing the written test--keep your nose clean, follow directions, read everything the CHP gives you, and make it through the Academy!

haha why is that?
im kinda nervous about the physc test or lie detector test, not that i have any past crimes or drug history but i mean i did try jane like once in 8th grade to be honest and i know i can't lie about it but i feel like i'll be so nervous answering questions period it might be tough...but im 21 now and a lot of my friends still do that crap and always offer it but i usualy make excuses to get out of it. i.e. "no i don't want it to show up in my drug test incase i get a new job" and now im in that situation, so it looks like it payed off...
i also got arrested in 8th grade for what was considered vandilism and i was booked..went to court ticket "disapeered" and was dismissed and as far as i know i have to bring that up, i mean thats the only time i was actualy in serious trouble, but i feel like stuff that happend...8-9 years ago when i was 13-14 isn't really relivent to how they're going to judge me now, so as long as im honest i think i'll be ok...what do you guys think?
what do you guys think? You need to be honest and upfront and get used to talking about some of the things in your past you are not entirely comfortable with. We've all done things we regret, but the purpose of a background investigation is to evaluate your background.

in your guys opinion though, is there people who have done a lot of bad things and still are given a chance?

No one on here can say for certain how much your past will affect your future with this department. That is why we have BIs. Be competely honest. I thought I was a pretty good kid growing up then I sat and talked to my BI and went...... I guess I wasn't the saint I thought I was.... But here I am just the same. Best of luck to you.
And about the stool sample, you'll be fine. Good old 23112..... I pity the fool who has to work with him on a daily basis.... Oh, wait.
Boy I sure like working in Southern Division!
