Anything is possible. Go with the attitude you will be going into that class. Be prepared. Few move this fast, but my son took the written the beginning of March 2007, began backgrounds in mid-late April, Medical was May 29th I believe, got his invite (via phone) about June 4, and walked through the academy doors June 18th, 2007, graduated Dec 21st, 2007. 10 months from written to graduation.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm really excited and hope I make it into this class, but to quote DW...let's not put the cart before the horse. Very true, but it doesn't matter how long it takes me to get there, as long as get there! Again, thanks for the responses.

Yes, we WILL all make it. Which part of the PAT did you fail if you don't mind me asking?

I was top of my group all the way through then on the run. I was so not prepared. You sprint the 100 and then turn around and run the 500 and I was like four seconds over the 500 limit. I tried my best but just could not do it.
But this time around it will be so easy.
Good luck all.

4 seconds...that's a killer. I'm glad you told me this. I didn't know that you sprinted the 100...then have to run the 500. Hopefully they'll give us some kind of break in between!

When I did the PAT there was anywhere from a 2 minute to 12 minute wait between the two runs depending on where you were in the running groups. Keep in mind though that was in my testing group for my area. Not all areas will be the same.

Thanks for letting me know. I tried running the 100, and then running the 500 with about a 2 minute break the other day and couldn't do it. I'm running my ass off now for the academy and the PAT. I can run the 100 with no problem, but the 500 is tough.

How are you tracking those runs? Are you at a track of some sorts? I would like to try it just in case it's harder then I think.
I'll see you all at the PAT.

YES...do try it even if you are 100% positive you can make it. I've heard that in some PAT if not all, they have you sprint the 100 Yards, then turn it around and have you run the 500. So I tried doing it this exact way. I was fine on the 100 with no problem, then turned around and gased on the 500 like 3/4 of the way through. Go to a highschool track or somthing. A 500 is 1 and a 1/4 laps.
