View Full Version : Speeding ticket
So I am out showing my car off to a friend of mine, speeding of course when I get pulled over by a chippy. He wrote me up for speeding, 66 in a 45 and to make matters worse I forgot my wallet at home and did not have my DL in my possession. This sucks, but it is my fault. This is only my second moving violation, the first was for making an illegal turn, does anyone know how much this is going to set me back? And should I be worried since I am in the application process?
Thanks

As far as the cost of the fine, the amount is set by the court. It wont hurt your chances as long as you are honest about it. Dont hide it on your paperwork or during any interviews and you will be fine.

I had seven priors for speed before I started the application process. They had all fallen off my record and dated back as far as 1977. I listed every one on my background paperwork even though I knew they wouldn't show up on a DMV printout or a criminal history. Absolutely nobody asked me about them during the hiring process. They didn't so much as blink an eye at them. What they look for is inconsistency and deception. That's the bottom line.
Whoa - seven! I only had two and they were both within one week. Anyway honesty is the best policy and good luck!

- like everyone else says be honest , and if any one asks you during the process, make sure you explain yourself, and tell them you've learned from your mistakes. it's made you more aware of your driving.... i dont want to say blah blah blah... but yeah...

NOPE...I kind of stumbled into this field...
In High school, my plan was to become a Police Officer. I was a Police Explorer, and eventually became the Commander of our Post. While in High School, I dated the Fire Chief's daughter(s) (3 of them) and started hanging around the fire stations (a lot!)....31 years later, I'm getting ready to retire, FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT!!! I did however, spend 16 years as a Reserve Police Officer...
