My PHS packet never made it to the backrounds building and it was shipped last week out of New Jersey. I have tracked it, but all it states is that it was at the local post office. The post office wants the address of where I sent it, but I am not home and able to get it. Is there anyone who has the address so they could send it to me? Thanks to who ever responds!

Really?? I droped my PHS at 437 N. Vermont, Los Angeles??? That's the address prnited on the big yellow envelope which came with the PHS.....
When I was there, I noticed there some some CHP Parking Signs and a notice showing people to where they can get the "Fix-it Ticket" fixed. I talked to a lady and told her that I am an applicant for CHP Cadet and was there to hand in my PHS at the door (did not get in the building). She took my PHS from me with a smile.
Did I mess myself up............ and got the PHS into a wrong place???
What can I do now if I make a mistake?? HELP!!!!

This is where I dropped my PHS as well. I got a call from my background investigator today so apparently it was the right place.

:sad:Just in case I get negative comments again :hitwall:I must emphasize I AM JUST AN APPLICANT and this is just my opinion...
I believe...
The 411 address is the S. Division Recruiting address
The 437 address is the BI's office where you are to drop the PHS.

I had an applicant a few years ago who turned in his PHS late, had numerous omissions and errors, had several VC violations on his car when he showed up for his initial interview and several other problems. When asked about all of these issues his normal response was " a friend told me how to do this" and "my friend told me the car didn't have to be in compliance until I showed up for the Academy". Of course my follow up question was "who is your friend, are they a CHP Officer?" His reply was "another applicant I know through a website called CHPForums". They never met but exchanged PM's here answering each others questions. FYI, the friend was also DQ'd.
So when you mail your PHS to the incorrect address along with all of the documents that you were instructed to deliver to your background investigator during your initial interview, wait until the last moment to order your transcripts and birth certificate, get grilled during your final interview because you didn't take the time to research your employment history and forgot about all of those reprimands at the employer you conveniently forgot to list, suddenly remember the ticket you received the day before your QAP, show up for your first day with a $300 watch that has GPS (in case you get lost on the grounds), 5 alarms that keep going off every 10 minutes and you don't know how to turn them off, three stop watches and a bright yellow band even though a simple $15 Target watch that only tells time will do, boots that hurt with every step but you need because everyone else is wearing the same kind, no notes of your spouse and children's information so now the big bad staff Officer is yelling and screaming at you and you want to go home (but I'll never quit because I'm different)... make sure you tell the staff Officer "but my friend told me this would be ok". But don't say "The CHP Officer told me to do this". You all just keep on giving each other support but the smart ones will know which advice to listen to.
Good Luck to all of you.

Shouldn't "you/us" applicants be worrying more about ourself and not others? I'm sure there are enough officers "IN THE KNOW" on this site that can offer the correct answer to ANY question an applicant might have. There is enough information flying around on this site to confuse even the sharpest applicant and it doesn't need anymore non-sense information or opinions from applicants who "think they might know" or "know from experience" or just want to share their "opinion", when ultimately it doesn't matter. All the officers on here have gone through the process successfully on their own accord, and are now the ones who have first hand knowledge of the process inside and out. As snowdog stated, there is a pattern to the questions that are asked by many of "you/us" applicants. As an applicant my self, I don't pay any attention to what others say or may think on this forum. I much rather hear it from a person who knows exactly what they are talking about "an officer" with the department for which I am applying with, thus can offer the best answer to your question in the way they deem sufficient. As PH3N@M took the time out of his busy schedule to provide another applicant with the correct address to their question, many of you just seem to dismiss what he had wrote and assumed another applicant knew better. Sheesh....

I'm glad Verified Chippies have it listed above their name, for this exact reason...

I just wanted a quick answer since I was not home. I finally was able to get home, get what I needed. If I could have deleted the post, I would have and not have had to worry about starting controversey.

No controversy... everyone on this thread is saying basically the same thing, that I should keep my mouth shut (figuratively speaking of course).
Its cool

If taking comments personally is a habit of any applicant here you can bet you're going to have a hard time at the academy -- if and when you get there. Learn from others - both accomplishments and mistakes - and move on...just my 2 cents...

Its coolThe finger is not being pointed at any one individual. It is simply a reminder to all, and has been said numerous times.
