I just had an initial interview with my Background Investigator and as of today i scheduled another final interview with him for a week later. Is that about the average amount of time between interviews?? It just seems really quick to me.

Thank you.

There is no average because everyone is different.

I got a question, since go to school in Arizona, should i assume he'll come down to arizona, or should I schedule back in Norcal? Also do I have freedom of scheduling the meeting where there is least impact on me?

More than likely he/she will do it over the phone, we don't go out of state to do BI, we would contact local agencies to help us out if need be. And the meeting is when the BI can do it, he/she will try to work with you, but in the end it boils down to their caseloads. Remember you came to us.

Actually snowdog, there is an "average". Because if you added up all the lengths of time it takes to go through a background check and divided by the number of officers who went through that would indeed give you an "average". I only mention this in case you don't have anything else to do with your time and want to get really into the answer to the question.

Of course there would also be a "median". Which would be the exact point at which fifty percent of the applicants either took longer or shorter time to go through backgrounds.

My GOD, I love statistics, someone might be able to build a position in division figuring things like this out!!!!

I stand corrected. If we take the time each of the 18000 applicants had to wait between their initial and final interviews I believe the answer would be 7.63925 weeks. But then again, that's just an estimate. And keep in mind that the average has fluctuated with the inventions of landline telephones, fax machines, computers, cellular telephones, the internet, caseloads, what the topic on Oprah is and whether Survivor is on. I hadn't considered Oprah previously so the new average is 8.52496 weeks.

The only median I am aware of is the one I ran over that caused undercarriage damage. I hope nobody ever notices that. Oh well there goes my safety pin.
