My boss just informed me today that my Ford F-250 4X4 is using WAYYYYYY too much gas. I have 4X more mileage than the other Staff and about 10X more gas use (Of course, I do a sh** pot load more work than anyone else does). He said I am getting a new "CHP Spec" Crown Victoria soon. I am not a "Car Guy" but I really have no choice.

What are the good and bad traits of the CVPI?

How about city and highway gas mileage?

My F-250 gets about 6 mpg in town and 11 mpg on the road.

P.S. I asked for a "CHP Spec" Mustang or Camero and he just laughed.

P.P.S. Where could I get a specification sheet for the "CHP Spec" CVPI so I can see what I'm getting?

P.P.S I'm also thinking about oredering it in lime green just to screw with him...

Hey Chief,

A long time since I drove the Crown Vic mid 90s models. I am going to say they are still okay. As far as mileage, the EPA estimates are 17/25. They are a big and comfortable vehicle and they have plenty of room in the passenger compartment as well as the trunk.
I don't know much more about the specifics but I drive a fairly new Merc Grand Marquis and that is the same size and shape and it is a very nice car on the road. Now if you needed four wheel drive in the past, this is not a car that will do that job.

Good luck with your new cruiser~~

Our CVPI's aren't spec'd above the standard Interceptor package. The link Redhead provided will give all the information on our car. It's a very sweet ride, in my opinion. I average 15 mpg and I don't drive like a maniac (used to years ago). You know how those MSRP's are; always better than the mileage you actually get.

You know how those MSRP's areNot nit picking, just sharing some knowledge, the window stickers are actually called "Maroney stickers".

Why is that? There must be a story behind that Red.

Why is that? There must be a story behind that Red.Since I work in a dealership, I hear the word all the time, as some car companies forget to send them with their cars. (British company mainly)

So I just looked into it and found this link and found out, I misspelled it too!

This would fall under the category of "you learn something new everyday"

This must be my thing for today
