For anyone who has actually done a QAP, how long did it actually last? Not that I am going to be rushed to get out of there, I am just wondering how long I should expect to sit in that hot seat? They say to allow up to 45 minutes! Is this the norm? I have not done a law enforcement interview yet and have no idea what to expect. The mock wasnt that long but I would imagine only because they did not go into personal issues in front of an audience. Anyways just wondering.

I've been three times and they have ranged from 35-45 minutes. Are you going Monday?
Good luck to all of the folks doing QAP's this week. Hopefully you will have good news to post in a few weeks.

I didn't go to the mock interview, only because I was dumb and didn't sign up for it (luckily I passed my QAP first time)...but I was only in the "hot seat" for 20 minutes. Make sure that you maintain eye contact with them, be completely honest, and make sure that you smile. Those would be my only suggestions...but that way they know that, although you're stressed, you really do want to be there. And hey...seriously...good luck!

yes I am going tomorrow... I kinda wanted to do it right away and get it out of the way since I have been spending a lot of time getting ready for it. Had a blast today with the Pshyc. My fingers were so numb at the end that I had a hard time signing my name on the two envelopes. Anyways good luck to everyone taking the QAP this week.

I've done two. The 1st one, an applicant or 2 ahead of me didn't show up. I arrived around 1.5 hours early, hung around, and finally checked in...still way early, and since others ahead of me had no-showed, I went practically right in. Meaning I was in there just dying for my time PLUS theirs! It was such a tragically bad interview! 2nd (and hopefully last ) one this past fall was about the standard 30 minutes. I don't know for sure; I didn't look at my watch, I looked at that panel. It seemed to breeze by, and I got my 95. The last thing you should be worrying about in there is the clock. Let the panel deal with that. That's part of their job. Your job is to be you, smile, relax, answer questions clearly and honestly.
AND TO DRESS THE PART!!! (You hear this, but I went to one interview where they guy ahead of me was in dockers & a polo shirt!)
Good luck Ace. Let us know how it goes.
