That's how I was trained to do traffic control. I get tired really fast though...

The original Candid Camera had a clip of New York Traffic Officers directing traffic to Beethoven or someone like that. I have tried to get a copy but they don't sell the shows.

Ok, that is just disturbing on many levels! If I saw a chippie dancing like that I would laugh so hard I would probably pee my pants and crash my vehicle!

If you think about it getting the attention of all the drivers at the same time is a good thing.(safety issue) I must admit it is funny.

I did some VERY MILD dancing when I got stuck doing traffic control for t/c's, parades and stuff. Nothing like the videos, just some smooth moves and gestures to break the monotony and help the pissed off drivers chill a little.
Got a lot of smiles, but no peed pants that I know of...

I had to direct traffic one time when my CRX broke down on the 170. I felt like it my engine was shutting down, so I coasted to a stop in the fast lane. I thought, "Oh, cripes!" I jumped out of my car and started motioning for people in the fast lane to stop, and tried waving people in the carpool lane and the #2 lane to keep driving by me. A CHP officer turned on his lights and drove back and forth to stop everyone. He was kind of mad at me for standing in the lanes behind my car but I was just trying to help ease congestion. The worst part was that when he got in my car and turned it on, it started right up! He drove me and me car to the shoulder.

The funny thing is, he probably started off the shift bitching about getting that assignment for the day. When he figured out he wasn't going to get out of it, he came up with a plan to make sure he never got it again. Thats how I think anyway.
