I just took the written test, I was just curious as to how long it takes to get the results?
I know they say a couple weeks. But normally is it really a couple weeks or is it faster or longer?:noidea:

Any info on this would be helpful.

Thanks

I know they say a couple weeks. There is a reason "they" say that, because it is accurate.

Don't get your panties in a bunch... just a question. I get anxious awaiting results. And i wanted to know from actual CHP officers like yourself, how accurate the process is, so thanks for verifying it.

Again thanks for the response.

Don't get your panties in a bunch... I don't think DW's panties are ever in a bunch. But, not sure why you would think CHU would be lying to you about the timing. Might want to watch who you insult on this board. Eyes are everywhere....

When my son (now an officer) took the written 10 mos ago, it was 2 weeks and 2 days to get his results.

Dre-CHP- like you, I am new to this so show a little respect for the elders. thats all. i took my written last sat (02-02). I'm also nervously awaiting my results, but for anyone who actually is worried if they passes or not should worry a lot more about their overall skills to read and write. Im sure you passes thought. Was I the only one that thought the test was easy??

The fail rate for the written test is greater than 50%. Maybe your just one of the really smart applicants?

Again thanks for the response.Thank you. I have carefully unbunched said panties and in fact found boxers to be a little more comfortable.

My sarcasm was aimed at the fact that you seemed to be "shopping" for answers, a process that is generally frowned upon on this job. I assumed "they" were the officers present at the written test, as we usually brief these things before the test and you were looking for a second opinion.

I took my written on Sat, turned in my test and got the results by lunch time. Then had the PAT/psych at 1pm and QAP at 130pm results by 2pm. Then my BI called me to meet for dinner that same day, told me I passed by the time dessert was served. Had my medical at a night club later that night recieved my results right then, and was told to go to this other dance club to have my psych conducted. After showing a few of my Justin Timberlake moves of dancing the psych told me I was cleared. When the club closed I was givien my academy invite as I was walking out the door. So it was a long grueling process but was pretty quick for me.

Nice! And to think it can take years for some. Maybe they needed to polish up their dance moves!

HAHAHA!!! Nice...

Yes the officers did brief us before the test. Sometimes I like to have a second opinion. I didn't realize that it was frowned upon to ask questions about the process to those that have already made it through. My impression was that this "Hiring Process" of the forum was specifically for that. :noidea:

Thanks anyway. I will be patient, and just wait the couple of weeks

Het5385, yes we took the test on the same day. I didn't mean any disrespect, I asked a simple question and wasn't expecting sarcasm thats all. When I feel like I'm not being taken seriously and someone cracks a joke I joke back.

Also like you I feel I did great on the test, and yes it did seem easy. I am a communications graduate though so I'd expect to do well on a test focusing on grammer.

I got my test results back pretty quick as well, It almost seemed like a week if not less. It's just to bad they weren't good results. I'm now going on my third try at the written. I was told by one officer at the testing that they will be moving on to monthly testing in the next three to four months.

Well I was trying to be nice, but Ill say this. Monthly testing, (12 testing cycles) will not happen in the next year. Maybe in two or three years.

Well what i was told was, there will be a test every month here in northern. I was in no means trying to be mean, sorry if it seemed so.

I received a letter this morning notifying me that I passed the written test (60.2). I've searched the forums and discovered that the "T" score, while not directly indicative of the overall percentage on the test itself, DOES have a correlation to the other participants who took the same test.

My question is, is it possible to deduce how this score affects me beyond meeting a certain minimum criteria? I think there were about 400-550 people who took the test, but I don't know how many passed.

I'm curious. Ultimately, though, I understand that this is of little to no significance. Now on to the next step.

Scheduled for P.A.T. on 02/23/08. Quit smoking after almost 16 years. At 31 years of age, I've had a sedentary lifestyle/job for quite a long time, though I've been in the gym more recently, and regularly.
I'm pushing myself, hard. I've gone from 1 mile in 15 minutes (eww, used to be a 300 pft'er if you can believe that) to 2.8 miles in 24 minutes (though I couldn't work out for 2 days). I'm improving steadily. I will pass the test.

I understand your curiosity, but the written is pass or fail and you passed. I would leave it at that and focus more on getting yourself in excellent physical shape (running, push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, etc...) and preparing for the rest of the process. Good luck!

My question is, is it possible to deduce how this score affects me beyond meeting a certain minimum criteria?.... I'm curious. Ultimately, though, I understand that this is of little to no significance. You said it... The written score has no bearing whatsoever on the rest of the process. In fact, no one, other than yourself, will ever see what that score was. The only scored portion that matters is the QAP interview.
