View Full Version : BI INVESTIGATION
HELLO EVERYONE! I HAVE A QUESTION. ANY FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY SOME OF MY REFERENCES AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY RECEIVED A CHARACTER LETTER FROM THE CHP. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? HAS MY BI BEGAN? I HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED BY A BI YET.

I suppose you could consider it beginning, but don't get too excited. I wouldn't say it truly begins until your initial interview.

I had friends tell me that same thing, and that was several months ago. It puzzled me because I didn't think anything happened until the inital interview, but it's simply you BI trying to make the best possible use of his/her time. I finally did contact my BI (I gather from this forum that doing so us the forbidden fruit!). He had called a few months earlier to tell me he was swamped; sit tight, but my gut said call...the way my boss is always going on about how he doesn't want me to leave, the thought crossed my mind that maybie my BI called me at work, and I somehow never got the message!
BIs are swamped. Their caseloads are huge, and they must find everything! But they can't have more BIs to share the load without more officers to allow the BIs off patrol...and there's no new officers without BIs...wow, I REALLY sympathise with these guys!
Another applicant question...I might be moving in a few weeks (a whopping 2 miles from my current home...to work, of all places!). Is notifying my BI enough, or is there anyone with the SPB I need to talk to? Thanks!

Im not sure what you would do about that, I would assume you would want to let your BI know. Ever since I turned in my Background Packet I have kept a notepad on my computer with any changes that I will need to inform my BI with. Just little things, for example, one of my references moved and another got a different phone number. BUt maybe one of the officers on here could let you know what to do.
THANKS ALOT FELLAS I APPRECIATE YOUR PROMPT RESPONSES.
