What are the chances of a 20 year old making it through the whole process ( the background, psych,etc.) and through the academy? And also I wanted to know if a recruiter calls me at any time or I do this without one?

Many have done it. It depends upon the individual. Some 20-year olds are mature and responsible enough, others aren't.

i was 21 when i started the academy. several of my friends were as well, its possible.

As for the recruiter, I don't remember my son being contacted by one.

Thank all of you for answering I was beginning to wonder if they would accept me in the psych at my age. I am trying, I just sent the application to take the test and it all goes from there.

Just keep in mind that you have to be 21 before you enter the Academy (unless they've changed the rule again recently.)

I just got off break in and I am barely 22. As long as you show maturity and dedication, anythings possible.

Maybe; but the law says you have to be 21. I guess if you now someway to get around the laws then your good. I know CHU has a really sharp Sergeant and he hasn't figured a way around that one out yet.

Lets drop it to 18 year old, then we can get the applicants like the dude back east who was 18 and a deputy who went crazy and killed his ex girlfriend and friends. :doh:
