So I finally got around to purchasing some running shoes, since my beat up gym shoes just weren't workin. I went to A Snails Pace and bought the shoes. The workers there were awesome and helped me out alot. Anyways, they have a beginner runners program that meats 3 days a week, and I was thinking about joining to get myself in shape for the academy. Of course I do not know for sure if I will get invited to the academy, but I want to be prepared if I do.

So, they meet three days a week, I think on Tuesday 6pm, Thursday 6pm and Sat. 7am . It is $125 for the entire program which includes clinics on nurtition, hydration, strectching, pacing. This is designed for beginner runners. If anyone is interested let me know, it would be awesome to get to meet some of you and have a running partner who has the same goals as me. I am sure their website has more info: www.trainasnailspace.com .

I think you have to sign up by Thursday (the 26th) to start this program. If anyone is interested or has any more questions I will try and answer them. Thanks guys.

Man that would be cool if we could get us all together one way or another. It sucks that you are in the LA area, and that is a good drive three times a week, not mention at rush hour on Tuesday and Thursday.

$125? Man, I go running down the street now for free.

Undertow, if you ever want to go for a run down along the board walk in Huntington Beach (on a Sat or Sun), post up and we can meet up.

Sounds cool to have a running group. Or partner. Or by yourself. Whatever. Just get out and do it.

I just started running again today after an 8 week break due to an injury. I forced myself to run only for a certain amount of time at a very slow speed. (The previous injury didn't bother me, so hopefully that is taken care of.) But my mind wanted to get back to my pre injury pace and distance. My body told me other things. (Things that really can't be printed here. Taking that much time off without running is harsh when you try to come back.)

Really i just wanted to say good luck to all of you and work hard. We've all got to stay motivated.

good luck...be safe

Speaking of my own personal experience only here...Having a running partner or group is an excellent benefit. I had a running partner for a bit and it helped to keep me motivated and helped me increase my speed. It was very hard for me to get out and run on my own, or when I did go out it was more of a jog.

We even used to mix it up a bit and do a sort of circuit training routine at the local track. We would run a couple of laps, then do a set of push-up, run a couple more laps, do a set of sit-ups, run some laps, lunges, etc.

What ever will keep you motivated is going to really help.

Thanks dude, sounds good to me. Yeah I decided that I can just run for free too. Natedagreat lives close to me also, so maybe we all can get together some time, or even make a routine once a week to run. We will have to work something out.

It would be nice if they had something like that in the Inland Empire.
