regarding a fatality in the CoCo area involving an off duty deputy. Not to make light of the situation, but is that Tom up on the ladder? They teach that in motor school or did you lateral to the FD. Where is the safety harness?

I use to be on the same watch as the off duty who was killed. We worked together for five years prior to me leaving for SFPD. He was a low key guy with a good work ethic. It killed me to see the baby seat and toys. I know he had a young daughter.
I saw him right before Christmas at court and he went out of his way to shake my hand wish me merry christmas. I heard he worked all night in the jail along with overtime during day.
Rest in Peace E!

I spied a Ladder Belt around the Officer. Standard issue for "Truckies" to keep them from falling off of the ladder.

I didn't mean to make light of the situation, especially with a off duty deputy 1144 and another off duty deputy injured. It's mostly bad when we get filmed in the news, in what we have to do or what we've done. I know you guys did as much as you could for the allied agencies, just as they would for us.
