Thank you for pointing out that it is a Christmas party. I am not a fanatic about this stuff but I do correct people all the time and I even told United Airlines corporate office that I did not appreciate their holiday greeting without a hint of the reason for the season.
If any of you are into country music (or even if you're not - it's still worth a listen!), get Brad Paisley's Christmas Album and listen to "Kung Pao Buckaroo Holiday".....he does a great job of poking some (very pointed) fun at the whole ridiculous politically correct "holiday" thing.
"You can't say Christmas - you have to say 'holiday'."
"Why?"
"Because it might offend someone!"
Okay, let's try another song....'I'm dreaming of a *bleep* Holiday' - hey, why did I get bleeped again?"
"You can't say *bleep* - it might offend somebody....you have to say 'Caucasian'."
"So I have to sing 'I'm dreaming of a Caucasian Holiday'????? What a load of horse *bleep*!!!"

Yes, it was put into quotes for a reason. I don't agree with it either.
To play devils advocate, is it a Christmas party for our Jehovah Witness officers??

The handful of Witness co-workers I've had didn't have a problem with the various holiday parties as long as there wasn't a gift exchange. Not sure if that goes across the board or not. One of my friends who was raised as a JW said that they grew up celebrating Thanksgiving, so I don't think the holiday aspect is frowned on so much as the gift-giving part.

'Devil's Advocate'!.....COOL, I love this game! First, I understand you put it in quotes for a reason...it's all good.
My answer to your 'question' is Yes, it is a Christmas party, for everybody. Calling it a 'Holiday' party seems crazy for a simple reason....which 'Holiday' is the party for?....CHRISTMAS. When a party is held around any other holiday, for instance Valentines day.....it's a Valentines Party...not a 'Holiday' party...the difference is? The difference is, it's Christmas, and it is acceptable to attack.
Just as a side note...I'm not a fanatic about this either, it's just a little frustrating some times....that's all
ps...Happy Festivus to ALL!!
