Sad to hear about this,

This happened just a couple of blocks from my parents house. The neighborhood has deteriorated into a slum, with big piles of trash and household effects on the street from daily evictions, unlicensed businesses treating the area as if it were a new territory with no restrictions, many, many unlicensed drivers, and people drinking and using drugs on the streets as if it were no crime to do so. It's the badlands. I've been threatened by those gang bangers there a few times while trying to do what I can to clean up the area. They're getting pretty brazen because the sheriff's department doesn't have enough personnel, and they have gotten away with quite a bit due to that, and the county supervisor who is representing that district seems to have deeded control to them by default. Looks like his apathy has just contributed to that officers death

My daughter is a supervising dispatcher for Sac Co Animal Control. She told me she talks to the Dope Deputies almost daily since they frequently need back-up from animal control because of the dangerous dogs the dopers keep. She said it is somber in her shop and everyone is really stunned.

Another good man who layed down his life rather than swerve from the path of duty. May he rest in peace.

So very many people keep strong dogs in their properties over there. Not just the dopers, but residents who are trying to protect themselves. I would absolutely hate to run through any backyards in a pursuit just due to that reason alone. some criminals will just let the dogs out before they break in to a home, and when people get evicted, the dog is often just set free.

They just picked up a 16 y/o kid suspected of the shooting.

My prayers are with the officer and his family. Such a horrible tragedy.

God Bless Officer Nguyen

During my tour of the area today, a house back in the depths of this little ghetto area was sporting a cardboard sign on their chain link fence out front with the words "TURN YOURSELF IN" and "DEJA VU JUSTICE" hand written on there. I took a couple snapshots of it because it isn't very often others living here come forward publicly

This guy is going to make a great witness....for the defense

"It happened very quickly," said Phomphakuy. He had just finished smoking some medical marijuana for a sore back and was getting a breath of fresh air in his backyard – the alleged gang hangout – when the chase blew past him. "As soon as they jumped over the fence, it happened. It happened so quick," he testified Friday.
