Motorcycle Officer Hit at Highway 99 Crash

I was just getting off work and pulled on to NB 99 from Elk Grove Blvd. when we were stopped. I was behind the accident by about 3 minutes and they had already shut the freeway down. I was about the fifth or sixth car behind the accident and could see the whole thing. At first it looked like a bad accident and there was no way to tell that an officer was hit until the CHP air unit landed in the middle of the freeway. Everyone was out of their cars doing the lookie-loo until the air unit landed. When the Helo landed, I think everyone realized the gravity of the situation and got back into their cars. I was glad to hear on the news that the officer was doing well.
My sympathy goes out to the officer and the family.
