Oh yeah buddy, good idea to argue with a drunk. IMO that guy was only making things worse. "Mom's out trying to get laid" stupid comment IMO.

Those are actually members of NorCal-LS1, which are a well meaning group of car enthusiasts. I remember that video when they first posted it.

My question is where in the hell is the beat unit? Where could they be, that after 40 mins there is still no unit on scene? I think this is embarrassing to the Department.

Yeah, I was wondering that too. CHP didn't even get to hook; the Sheriff's Dept. ended up intercepting her by chance. At least she was finally caught.

Where was that? The peninsula? Anyone? I missed the sign on the freeway. Magdalena exit? I'm thinking San Mateo. OBTW -the girl says Sheriff but I couldn't tell what kind of unit that was.

Everything was so out of focus.

Tom-
It was Redwood City area. And the Sheriff looked to be Santa Clara County since they use the Expeditions in the Los Altos Hills area.

OK.. cool thanks. Was that an Expedition on the shoulder? My eyes are getting bad.

Was that an Expedition on the shoulder? You know, I saw that video a year or so ago on another fourm and somebody on there had replied that it was an Expedidtion. So, I went with it. I just d-loaded the video and watched it again, and it appears its not. Oops.

Actually, I thought this was a pretty good test. When I became a DRE, we had to learn to give those FSTs by the book and here are a couple we missed. I can't say much for the officer safety tactics but the end result was good and I got a laugh out of it.

I was amazed he could say the alphabet backwards, I couldn't even come close. He almost got away, but it was funny that he said he was drunk.....LOL

The group as a whole is well meaning, barring the fact they actually got involved and tried to help. Individuals, and what they say under stressful situations asside.

Having never heard of this group Non I'll take you word for it. I just saw some things in that video that kind of bothered me and almost had me feeling sorry for the drunk. Not sorry that she's DUI but it's obvious she's not comprehending much of what's being said to her and these jokers getting up her face about her condition was foolish IMO. But then again a video of these guys just following her while trying to contact the police wouldn't make for a good show, would it?

If you think the alphabet was hard, remember the FSTs that Steve Martin did in The Man with Two Brains. Now those german guys give hard FSTs.............................................. .

Yeah ok, you got me there. Atleast I contribute to this forum instead of just posting ewwws and aahs.

Relax, I'm just ribbing you. Sorry to say but there's not a whole lot for me to contribute to this forum other than being civil. I'm here mainly to learn about this job, to get advice about the hiring process and to interact with the officers and other applicants here. Anything "experience "I could contribute from my non-sworn PD job is immensely overshadowed by all of the officer's experience.
