Hello,

I'm just wondering from the other officers and BIs here if there is anyone else I can contact besides my BI. I left a message about 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything back. I understand they're busy, especially in the Border Div, that's not the problem. The problem is that I have a flight scheduled and when we spoke previously the possibility was brought up of perhaps doing the CVSA while I was there so thats why I'm calling. I have a feeling the answer is NO but I really want to make the most out of the trip since I can't reschedule it.

Thanks,

You are correct, they are very busy about now...and if you have been watching the news...Border Division is on fire right now, so some things take a back seat. Officers throughout the state, including Background Investigators, have been deployed to assist in the evacuations and fire supression efforts. It's important to remember that we (the CHP) are California's Police Department...if the State needs us...we go.

Call again and leave another message...they will return the call when possible.

Ask to speak to the supervisor in charge of the Backgrounds unit or a recruiter.

Absolutely, and I do not intend to interfere in anyway with their deployment, in fact, that is the LAST thing I would want to do, I was in San Diego in 2003. I just don't know where to turn since my situation is sort of dire (losing about $800 in travel expenses), I don't want to seem selfish, but I'm sure you can understand my predicament.

Not at all...I fully understand. You calling is not interfering...my point was just a possible explanation for the delay in contact.

If it's been two weeks...call again.

Due to the deployment status in Border Division somethings may have slowed down a bit. I understand your personal issue with flight schedule (and related $$). Call the Cadet Hiring Unit at (916) 375-2180 with the specifics of your problem and we'll see if we can get you an answer.
