Hi guys,

Im a new member with a question--

What is the general job of a slicktop car? Are they only used in certain areas?

It's more about tradition than function. Quieter to drive at high speeds and easier on the eyes. Popular in all areas but not as common in metro areas. Very common in rural areas. Also, they're cheaper to outfit than buying lightbars.

You could "request" almost anything...Whether you get it or not will be driven by the needs of the specific CHP office, seniority, availability, policy, and who the particular supervisor is.
