assignments out of the acadamy

A little early on this question, but when filling out the dream sheet at the academy is there a space for any input in regards to why you want the places you've chosen?


I don't have a hardship, but would like to get in the vicinty of a certain place in Ventura/LA area so my step-son has easy access to his father.

In short, things like that usually don't count, unless you have certain custody requirements which you can find out when the time comes.

Hardships do not count unless it occurred AFTER you were in the academy. The department is apparently like an insurance company and does not accept "Pre-existing" cases regardless of the severity (period!)

Thank youI doubt you can, but I also hope you have it in writing that you could move from the county. Verbal isn't good enough if he should get his shorts in a knot.

Even with the court order, all you need to do is petition the court and it usually happens.

When you get to the point where you are handed the dream sheet, make the closest location your number 1, next closest #2, etc... And then keep your fingers crossed someone with a higher number doesn't want the same spot.

Ventura County should not be difficult.

Ventura (west Ventura Co. takes trainees almost every class)
Moorpark (east Ventura Co. is taking 4 trainees. Hit and miss there.)
West Valley - closest to Ventura Co. takes trainees consistently.
