I've pretty much been following what the CHP outlines in the Physical Training pamphlet given to me at some stage in the process (and as indicated by Snowdog, listed online).
I got one of these: Garmin (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=142&pID=348)for about $100.00 and it has been a great tool!
I have a schedule that doesn't allow me to run with friends right now, so this little gadget keeps track of my progress and will bark at me if I'm falling off the pace I'm suppose to be on. It will also let you "race yourself" to ensure that you ran faster than you did the day before (assuming you've run somewhere you've run before). It has been well worth the money for my situation.

Never heard of Garmin before, but since I am an Apple nerd i run with the Nike+ ipod set up and truely love it. Plus its a great bonus that my current job requires me to work out, so I am really blessed to be able to prepare for my future job while at my current one:cool:. Every Monday/Wed I also run a PT program at work, so that also gives me an oppurtunity to keep up with the whole boot camp style PT workouts. Anyone in Stockton area more than welcome to come out usual show rate is 20-30 people.
