haven't posted here for a while, been busy applying at couple of other departments, because I was not good enough for CHP at the oral interview, got a 65 instead of minimum 70 to pass, till this day still don't know the specific reason, (could have been the tickets that I had in the past, lots of them, and within those "lots" of tickets about half were "fix it" anyways I am 26 years old and haven't had a ticket for the last 3 years atleast:smile:, CHP is really hard to get hired on to be honest, I also think that "oral interview" is not the easiest in the world either. I am going through backround right now with a local police department, so I have the poly, medical and phsyc left, I have been assigned a background investigator who has been at my place this past weekend and we went over my PHS, I got a contingent offer too, so I am pretty happy, even though CHP would have been nice too.
ps. please don't grill me on my spelling errors

Good luck to you. A law enforcement career is honorable in any department.

Yes, I agree with you Chippysgt, I just want to get my foot in LE, CHP was my initial desire, honestly still kind of is. I have a question if I ever wanted to reaply, what do I have to do? I mean since I have passed the written, the physical and failed the oral (65). Do I have to fill out the entire PHS again? Do I have to retake the group phsyc again? ( the one with like two thousand questions? This was all done this year.

Currently, if you reapply you have to start from the beginning just like everyone else minus the written test. This is regardless if you are coming from another agency or as a regular applicant. It's good to hear you are still pursuing your dream. Good Luck.

Of course I remember, how could I forget. I hope you benefited from our conversations and are able to see things from a new point of view.
Sincerely, good luck.

I did benefit, thank you, and I may reaply, I just hope to get through that QAP this time.....but that's still not for sure that I will reaply, like I said in my previous post I am going through backgrounds for a local PD, not in my local town Sacramento but for a different city, should have my poly scheduled within the next 2 weeks, and again thanks for your input on my previous questions about the QAP, are the QAP audio tapes kept on file still? for how long?

The department has dropped the minimum QAP score for passing to 70 now? I don't necessarily think that is an all-encompassing 'bad' thing.....i guess it is good because it creates a bigger candidate pool.
it was 95 or higher only when i went through the process in late 2004.
