Im really surprised that no one (especially police Officers) have nothing to say about this???.......Well, first off you may want to wait more than twelve hours during the middle of the night for a response... Secondly, you register minutes earlier only to post an "investigative report" that can be rebutted from any number of angles -- and no, I'm not going there. So good luck fanning the flames.

Cops already have a fool proof method of lie detection. They ask you a question, and just as you begin to answer, they interrupt you and say, "Don't lie to me now"; then let you continue.
This has worked for decades, and I might add, without all those expensive looking electronic gizmos that require a PHD to operate. Can I get a witness?

I have a fool-proof method for knowing when a violator is lying to me: his lips are moving.

So in other words you are going to say "I saw this news story, and of course it has to be totally true since a news reporter said so". Good luck and standby. Make certain you wear plenty of deodorant that day because I have a feeling it is going to get very warm in that room.

You make a good point. I dont think I would throw such a harsh statment in thier face but I certainly wouldn't allow some machine to call me liar either. Her's a better question, since you're a "Verified Chippie", what would you do if they said they you where lying but really weren't?

"they" probably won't bring up "lieing". They might bring up lying. Or they might bring up a thin skin. I wish I was going to be on a cadet oral panel. I would definitely use this site. If I were a BI or a CHP Academy staffer I would be here too. Amazing how just a cursory look at a person's posts on this site can lead one to a conclusion as to whether or not the poster would make a good officer ain't it?
Fire away CC.

Dear C.C.,

As your fellow applicant, I hope that you are not seriously swayed by this video of the media's report on the CVSA.

The California Highway Patrol uses this as a piece of the puzzle in finding out who you truly are. I know it is a venture into the unknown, but it should not matter whether they hook you up to this, or they break out an Ouija board and summons the ghost of Jimmy Hoffa to see if your backbone exists.

Have fun and hopefully we can compare notes at the academy!

Well it sure didn't take a long time to figure that one out, and I admire your delightful reply, I can't seem to figure out why people think if your not talking like a CHP Officer than your not "human" around here nor should we treat you with respect.

"Fire away CC" Who is instigating here? I'm not trying to cause a rukis, I'm making a blunt statment.

It feels like a simple question can turn into a interrogation on this site.

If I were in a form 8 hearing and knew I was in the clear, I'd talk to my rep and come up with a plan. But I definitely wouldn't start defending myself right away and possibly say something that is going to get me in deeper trouble. Perhaps thinking clearly under pressure is one of those traits that has helped me stick around for as long as I have. I would hope that all applicants possess this trait also.
If I were an applicant I'd probably ask the examining Officer "what does this mean and how does it affect my eligibility"? And I would ask in a professional manner.
Your problem, and the problem of so many others here, is that you don't know how the CVSA is administered, how the results affect one's eligibility, what your options are, what the DQ guidelines are or what is done with the information learned in the CVSA.
The fact is that CVSA has been a GREAT tool that allows us to explore areas that we couldn't pre-CVSA. I don't care if he is or isn't a doctor or if he received his degree from a University or strip mall. He has given us a tool that helps us sort out the bad apples. And, isn't that part of our final goal?
