My brother and I both applied, and tested, and both have our QAP this week. Does the CHP allow siblings in the academy at the same time? We look extremely similar, would that be something that would draw unwanted attention to ourselves? We were both talking, and If it would be a problem I think one of us would be ok putting it off a class if it would make life slightly more bearable for both of us.

Oh, and neither of us knew the other was applying until we had both already sent our apps in.

Last thing I heard, a set of identical twins recently graduated in June. They both made it through, but honestly , im not sure how hard they had it. Maybe an experts opinion would help?

as far as i know none of the june class where twins, but i could be wrong.

My roommate's identical twin graduated 2-3 classes before him and he always used to hear stuff about that. i will tell you this much, you will be getting more attention that way

There was a set of twins that graduated from my senior class. But, as Miguel said, I don't know how hard they had it. It's been a few years, but I doubt they have made any changes regarding relatives. If you two get the awesome opportunity to go - I'm sure you two will have a magical stay, just like going to Disneyland.

This is where I found the info about the twins:

I stand corrected, guess I missed that.

So the question is then Who gets the joy of being the 1st at CAMP SNOOPY? Based on the previous replys the 2nd to go may get the extra attention when it is his turn right? So why not just do it together & not try to figure out who will have to defer? Unless you prefer the rock, paper, & scisorrs as the only way to be fair. Wish you both the best in the process & if both of you are so fortunate enough to get invites at the same time I say roll w/ it. The BI will be your best bet though for current regulations if you both get to that stage.

It was my class (CTC-III-02) that had the set of identical twins. The staff didn't really care. They, like the rest of us, were evaluated on our own merits.

Twin CHP's....

Imagine the wierd scenarios one could conjure up. "Sir, you're obviously seeing double so I must conduct a sobriety test."

Accused conspiracy theorists like myself would start a "state cloning program" myth.

By the way, what is camp snoopy?

camp snoopy = academy

I think my brother would defer. His wife as we speak is having their first baby, and I think he would jump at the chance to get a few more months before leaving.

Thanks for the responces. It would be nice to be there at the same time. Share some of the $3.11 gas driving home on the weekends.

I think the similar looks would get you some additional attention in the beginning.
At least it would in military boot camp.

$3.11 - damn I wish we had gas that low :hitwall:

Another thought regarding your brother's new baby. My son was born two weeks prior to my first day at Camp Snoopy. I think it would have been harder to leave when he was three months or older. That seemed to be about the time he started to recognize me and be upset when I was dropped off at the airport on Sunday to fly back. Just my opinion based on my experience.

 this may be true, but remember you can drive by that same gas station an hour later & it will say $3.11.
On the baby subject there have been men whose wives have become pregnant or actually had a baby while at "CAMP SNOOPY" so that is something to think about as well. It is a personal decision one that only he can make & feel comfortable with. Also though perhaps the timing would work out that if so fortunate to attend the ACADEMY that sweet baby would've made his/her debut & the PAPA would be able to go w/out hesitation. So many cadets face all kinds of life changes during CAMP SNOOPY so it is very doable. We have a daddy's girl who will cry for dad out of the blue & he is at the 1/2 way mark at the ACADEMY. Best wishes again to the both of you.

If you both have the opportunity to go at the same time, TAKE IT. You can motivate eachother and you've got a good PMA partner on the weekends and such.

We had identical twins in 4-06....hilarious! I think they received a little extra attention at the very beginning, but anything after that was based solely on their own shennanigans......we could never seem to convince them how funny it'd be for them to keep switching who was who on the staff....

That would just suck if one brother was getting more special attention than the other, just so that the other would not want to switch with him. I wouldn't be surprised if the instructors made them shave numbers in the back of their head. Now that would be funny.

What a fun thread this is being! III-06 had 3 guys (not related) with the same last name. They were roomates, and while I won't go posting someone's name, what that last name happened to be added to the humor!
I did a few ride-alongs with a female officer who told me she & her husband were the 1st married couple there together (Jr & Sr classes, though), and by her saying '1st' that gave me the impression there have been cadet spouses since, but I could be wrong.
There was a cadet wife who posted on here quite awhile back that their daughter called the telephone 'daddy' (or something to that effect). How sad!

I think we got our three matching last names mixed up. The ones I'm referring to were from C co. Come on now, nobody really cares about your B chumpany stories (although you guys had WAY more fun at PT than we did).

LMAO, does he think that just because he is quitting that he doesn't have to...

good times, good times

Awe! Come on! Fill the rest of us in.Some things are best learned at the Academy. Sleep in one morning, and you too can find out (and the rest of your class will never sleep in!)

That is so not cool. Sounds like a funny story. I want to hear the rest of it without experiencing it myself.

I called home one time and was talking with my youngest daughter. I asked her if she knew where I was and she replied, "Of course daddy, you're at the airport." I nearly fell out of my bunk when she said that.

My older brother and I shipped out to Navy boot camp 18 years ago. We got some flak when one of us would mess up. We attended our initial schooling after boot and actually got stationed on the same base for our first tour. We are getting ready to be reunited in the same unit for our final 2 years. It has been a blast to have a brother that understands exactly what you go through and can be there to take care of you like only a brother can. If not, i found out brothers come in more than kin form. Good luck.

If brothers don't live together at home anymore, it'll be almost like moving back to mommy and daddy's home again (but without mommy and daddy) because there is a good chance you'll be sharing the same tiny room. Then you spend all day next to your bro. in training.........You just might get tired of each other. If you have issues of fighting already, you may want to go through separately. Otherwise, you'll survive the little bit of extra attention and jokes. Creates memories

I would be honored to have my brother as a roommate again. I just figured they probably wouldn't allow it. We've not been roommates since my wedding day 5 yrs ago. We get along great, and haven't really gotten into it in around 10 yrs. But that last time was a doozie  .
