Are Breathe Right Strips allowed during PT at the academy? I have been running with them and they help, but I do not want to get used to them if they are not allowed.
Thanks.
I don't know that they're specifically allowed or not - but let me put it this way: if everyone else isn't wearing them, you don't want to be wearing them either. Anything that makes you stand out and/or draws attention to you is not A Good Thing.
I'm not normally one to follow trends or be in with the "sheeple" - but the Academy is the one exception where total conformity is the best course.

DUMP THE STRIPS!!! They will make you stand out in the crowd, and in the academy, you don't want to stand out as you will most likely get "Special attention', and it is not the kind of "Special" you want to be...:tape:

What are these "breathe right" strips you guys speak of??? I hope it's not enhanced oxygen.
If they look anything like retainers...yeah, leave 'em at home.
Gotta work out all naturale!
Edit* Oh man! Out of curiousity, I looked them up on google. Don't bring those!

Actually, that would be cool if you did because that would take more focus off on me. Lol.

Ahh come on MAC, let him wear them...We could have had fun with this one. If you run out of the strips, just use a Band-Aid. Cadet ??? I want you to take a nice clean breath every 10 minutes and say "SIR, Cadet ??? taking a nice clean breath"

I know - sometimes we give WAY too much info to prospective Cadets here - to the point where it seems to have become expected, and people get huffy if they don't get straight answers. When I went to the Academy we didn't have the benefit of all this knowledge - we went in blind and found out about all these things the hard way. No "orientation seminars" with staff and Cadets making speeches - our orientation came from our seniors sometime during the first week (after we'd already screwed up a few times and caught hell for it). We didn't know the first thing about how many uniforms we'd be getting, what our storage situation would be, whether our PT shoes were the right ones or not, what color shirt to wear with our suits for the first day, what the chow hall was like, etc. It was trial and error - mostly error - but it was a lot of fun. You never knew what rock was going to fall on you next, and it was fun to watch all the blunders....even your own!
"Well....what've we got here?!? Cadet Breathe Right! That's real good, nasty! Are you stealing air from your fellow Cadets? Well, ARE YOU?!?!? What makes you so special that you deserve more air than everybody else is getting?!? You're just on your own program, aren't you?! Maybe we should just give you your very own oxygen tank instead, so you get LOTS of nice, clean pure air all for yourself!!!"

I appreciate the responses. I had planned to leave them at home anyway. I had already answered my own question, by asking that question. This board is a wealth of knowledge; and I am thankful it is here. I am eager to start Monday 0730. Getting to this point has been the easy part, the real work will be earning my seven point. The count down has begun.
I agree with Mac....we are giving out too much info.
