I've never heard of anyone getting hired who scored below a 90. And no, you can't add veteran preference points after the QAP. You have to mail a completed veterans preference credit application form so it is received by the state personnel board prior to your interview date.

The Department has extended Commitment to Hire letters (moved on in the process) for QAP scores of 85 in the past, and for some recent testing cycles. I am not aware of QAP scores of 80 ever moving forward.

When I went throught the process it took SPB a few months to add my points to my first QAP score. On the second QAP they were added to my score immediately. You can always call SPB and find out if they have added your points yet.

When I worked backgrounds we saw a lot of 85's, and once in a great while an 80. It all depends on how many people they are hiring. Good Luck. Now go do some push ups, pull ups, leg lifts, and oh yea, did I mention run?
