Another anonymous member asked me about the quads. I think it's been discussed before, but here is a little more information.

The dorm quads have (guess...) four rooms that share a common bathroom. Each quad has three beds, one a bunk bed, and three closets (wall lockers). (So yes, there will be three cadets in each room). The bathroom has four sinks, two enclosed, individual showers, and two toilets with public restroom-type doors.

You forgot to add that they all smell fantastic, and that the retro '70s colors are really boss! Don't forget to bring towels, and I STRONGLY suggest that you bring your own TP. "Low bid" doesn't belong any where near that region...

Sounds about like the privacy of a college dorm. At least I'd be used to that....except I don't think I had professors barging in at 4 AM for PT at college.

Everytime I've ever gone back for in-service classes, I can't get over how the dorms still smell the same. That dank, semi-sterile, dark odor. Brings back a flood of memories.

They probably didn't barge in at 2 AM either.. to throw your matress and blankets all over the floor, upset your closet items and scream at you and make you do push-ups for sleeping on the floor (so you didn't have to waste time making your bed) like they did me...

Man that was ugly! My roommates thought it was funny though.

Yep....never changes, does it? Hey, at least they have ROLL toilet paper now, instead of those little 4x4 sheets!!!

An Academy question I have had for a while, hope someone can answer.

Lights out is at 2200, correct? Weekend Liberty ends at 2359, right?

see where this is going??? So, what happens if you make it back late to the academy for whatever reason? But, before liberty was officially up?

Lights out at 2200 is on weeknights - not during liberty. As long as you sign back in by 2359 at the end of liberty, you're OK. Heads up, though - God help you if you sign in late from liberty!

Is that grounds for termination of emplyment or just grounds for a very, very rough week?

Anything can lead to termination, but probably just a bad week if it is an isolated incident.

You may get lucky and be housed in a quad with only two beds per room, 8 cadets total as I did. These quads have wheelchair accessable bathrooms; So there lies the problem. Only one toilet for the entire quad. Makes for interesting mornings.

Oh, and that feeling pulling into the academy on Sunday night for inservice seems as strong as ever. Makes you shudder and want to go home.

The only thing I hated worse than waking up at 4 a.m for PT was at 0530 standing at attention in the multipurpose room waiting to see which "animal" of the PT staff was gonna work you out that morning! The little pitter patter of their feet as they walk from the back wall, across the "Seal" and of course it was always the instructor that could do a million of the excersise you didnt wanna do. Ok, I need to go back to my happy place. All this academy talk is scaring me.
