Sorry to hear that. Seems like I said this only a few weeks ago but to my friends here I'm sorry for the loss of one of your family.

So if I'm reading this right the vehicle the Officer was trying to stop just took off? I'm going to assume the driver was wanted for something because I don't want to believe someone who's simply being stopped for a traffic violation could be so heartless and just leave the scene.

This stinks. Not that there is a GOOD time but during the holidays. Man, I am bummed out. Condolences to the family.

My partner and I just came in from flying, and spent the entire shift looking for the suspect vehicle without any luck. We had a total of four aircraft covering the entire southern valley, but with the limited amount of suspect information, we didn't find the car. We found many cars matching the suspect vehicle description, but never found the correct vehicle. Sounds like the suspect was driving a car that had far better high speed handling capabilities than our pv's. Tough end to an already bad year for the patrol.
Once again, my condolences go out to this CHP officer and his family. I am sorry to hear that another officer has to pay the ultimate price in order to keep us all safe. I really hope this deadbeat is found and held responsible. Stay safe out there everyone.
Condolences to his friends and loved ones. Rest in peace, brother.

My condolences as well. "...failed to respond when dispatchers requested additional description of the vehicle" reminds me of how terribly helpless dispatchers must feel at times. Let's hope this guy doesn't take any more innocent lives with his crazy driving.

Anymore news on finding the suspect? I read a truck pulled in front the Officers car while he was in pursuit which may have caused him to lose control.

Nope, nothing yet. He t/c'd before he could radio dispatch with more info. Black Acura RSXs are a dime a dozen in this state. The only way to catch this perp is if he/she starts bragging to peers and someone steps forward. Even then it would be difficult to prove it in court.

All my thoughts go to his family and CHP fellow officers.
As I have an american cars show on friday 2, could somebody on this board send me a black ribbon to cover a badge ? I'd like to honor this hero.

Phil,
Someone on here posts with a CHP badge with a ribbon correctly affixed. I can't find it right now though. All it is is a black elastic ribbon that is tacked with stiches to stretch over the badge in the correct spot. You should be able to find one in any sewing or fabric shoppe. I believe it is 3/8th of an inch wide???
