Welcome to the site, and I know the feeling about not doing so well on the QAP. Took me and more then once to get by it. Wish you the best of luck in the process, and just remember not to give up if this is something you want. There is a ton of information in the hiring section, so make sure you search through all of it.

Hey Fellas. Well I'm new on here and I'm sooo stoked to have found this site.

Agreed Soon2BCHP. The officers and fellow candidates on this site have been a great source of information.

I just did my QAP last Wednesday and i'm kinda worried that I didnt pass but hopefully I did ok.

Congrats on passing the PAT. I took my QAP on Thursday. Since you are in Riverside, I assume you are testing through Inland Division. I would suggest that while the interview is still fresh in your mind, that you write down things that you think you might have done poorly on. Like I told another applicant on this site, if you pass, you can burn that list. If you don't get a passing score, you can refer to the things you wrote down and use that list to help you prepare for the next time around.

Funny thing is that while I have suggested that to 2 people, I have yet to write down my own list of mistakes from my interview. I have been busy with finals.

Being a CHP officer is a dream job of mine and hopefully I will become one.

CHP is the best place to be. It has been a dream of mine for many years. In the 2 ride alongs I went on as well as the team spirit emphasized by the PT staff at the PAT, has made me even more excited to be part of the Department.

Best of luck to you.

Well its a pleasure to meet you MM1. I'm a former EM3 stationed aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) ENG/E-Division. It's always good to meet fellow sailors. I love to share stories! The training never really leaves you. LOL. When I went to the PAT and they started yelling like in boot it was an instant change. Like back in boot camp.lol. They yelled Attention and i snaped. I soo missed that feeling!!

Hey thanks bro. It has always been a dream for me. I just never really had the drive to do it. But now I'm just soo damn stoked!! I even had a dream about me reciving a letter congratulating me. lol. its dorky I know but man I have never wanted anything more then I want this job. As much as it is the organization, I love the feeling of being in uniform. To me it's a pride. lol. I wont ramble. For those that are prior service understand i guess. Thanks for the idea of writing what stuff that i felt i did wrong which there is a lot. But i will do that tonight.

OH and thanks for the support fellas!! I really means a lot! If I have any questions I wont hesitate to ask.

Well time for bed fellas. I have another 12.5 hour day at werk tommorow!. UGH.

CHP is the best place to be. It has also been a dream of mine and I've been living it for 16 years now. How many people do you know can say that about thier jobs? As you can tell I'm proud and love it. Congrats to those who passed PAT's and QAP's. For those who did not, keep plugging away at it. It took me a couple of times before I made it. If you want it bad enough it will happen. Good luck to all of you.
