What is the vehicle code as far as towing a trailer in the carpool lane? Is this allowed? Can a two axel truck (not a pickup truck) drive in the carpool lane as long as they have two or more passengers? Does a vehicle have to exit the carpool lane if they are impeding traffic (an example was on 101 this morning – a car was driving 55 MPH in the carpool lane with at least 50 cars behind her, does she have to exit the lane?)

Thanks for your answers...

What is the vehicle code as far as towing a trailer in the carpool lane? Is this allowed? - No.

Can a two axel truck (not a pickup truck) drive in the carpool lane as long as they have two or more passengers? - Yes, as long as they do not have any trailer.

Does a vehicle have to exit the carpool lane if they are impeding traffic (an example was on 101 this morning – a car was driving 55 MPH in the carpool lane with at least 50 cars behind her, does she have to exit the lane?) - Yes, she could be cited for impeding if the limit was 65 and she was only doing 55 with that many vehicles behind. Location, driving conditions, and other traffic would be a consideration though.

50 cars is a lot of cars. Unless she's trying to win the cup in a Nascar circuit, she shouldn't be leading the pack!

Maybe she thinks she's the pace car. Even in NASCAR a full field is only 43 cars.
