Anyone know what happened here?
I know this isn't CHP, but there was nothing on the news about it as usual. This was in Sacramento on 3/05/07 about 1300 hrs, and on Marysville Blvd.

OK smarty..
Perhaps it wasn't. Maybe it was a training excercise in which Telephone poles were being tested for their survivability factor when they jump out in front of police trucks:biggrin:

OK...so nobody knows.

Since it looks like a community service officer-type vehicle, I'm guessing it was just an accident. Nothing out of the ordinary. Like I said, just an educated guess.

It might have been a fire department training exercise.

While the driver was getting a donut (oops, a bagel) and coffee (oops, natural spring water), the firefighters stole the truck, crashed it then worked it over with the Jaws of Life!!!

C'mon now,

the cable guy was there after the fact. Just to point out here that there are many stories of CHP officers getting hit, or hitting someone else in the local news here. This however was not considered similarly newsworthy for some reason. Neither was it referenced by the pd's website.

I shouldn't be telling you this, but, it is common for police agencies to cover up many officer/employee involved collisions by failing to take any documentation of the incident. This way they keep their collision stats low. It is important because it allows them to meet goals set for collisions, injuries, etc.

If they knew someone took this photograph, they most likely would have impounded the camera and arrested the photographer. For your own safety, I suggest that you keep your knowledge of the incident confidential and stay alert.

I would assume that the Comcast truck was there to repare the cable that was knocked down by the police vehicle.

Don't worry, I have a back up alibi. I'll just tell them that I was the photographer for CHPForums.com
