Anyone get invited to the April academy?

Invites typically go out 1 month qive or take prior to the Academy date. I am still waiting on the postman to deliver my letter...

I just finished my Final BI this morning and my Background Investigator mentioned that the Cadet Hiring Unit is shooting for 240 cadets for the April academy. Hopefully that means that they will do a big push to try to get as many applicants processed as possible.

Oral psych is tomorrow. Hopefully a packet will arrive not to long after that.

I got a call from SPB yesterday stating my Psych. results were in, I passed. Now just waiting on my packet, damn post-man hurry up.:rolleyes:

Wow, It looks like alot of us are just riding the waiting boat!!! I'm still waiting on my invitation packet as well. I deferred CTC-IV-06 so hopefully I still get another invitation?!

You got a call on your psych results? I had my psych back at the end of November and I haven't received anything yet. You're the first I've read or heard of someone getting a call just to say you passed. Just wierd to me?!?! Any one else get a call or even a letter? Congrats on passing and good luck!

I just had my cvsa and final interview today. I was recommended to the academy. I?m scheduling my medical for Monday. Hopefully I will have everything completed in time for the April academy. My BI said there is a good chance Ill make it in time. He also mentioned that one of his applicants got the invite 48 hours prior to the academy start last time around..Definitely possible..

For those of you that found out over the phone.. How long after your psych did you guys call the Cadet Hiring Unit to find out your status?

Hubby had oral psych Jan 9th. Just waiting. They say, "No news is good news" right??? Does SPB really call with results??? That's the first time I've heard that.

I waived CTC IV-06 for medical reasons. My doctor said I'm ok and I'm more than ready! I sent my paperwork in from the Dr. and now I'm just waiting for a call. The last I heard I was going to be put in CTC-I-07.

I had my psych on the 9th of January as well and haven't heard anything. I was told 3 to 7 weeks to get back the results. I was told that the results would be in letter form as in invite to the Academy.

I haven't called yet to ask. Too soon.

I have my CVSA next tuesday the 23rd then my final the following day. Funny thing is, I was scheduled for my final the week after the CVSA, but my BI called and rescheduled it for the very next day...I'm wondering if thats a bad thing..?, wanting me to come in sooner :confused: I'm hoping it is b/c they are rushing to fill spots for April 2nd.

How long after your psych did you guys call the Cadet Hiring Unit to find out your status?

Please do not call the Cadet Hiring Unit just to check your status -- they have way too much to manage as it is. I know waiting sucks, but if CHU or SPB need something, they'll call you. Ultimately you'll receive final results in the mail.

I had my psych back in November and just found out I passed it and should be receiving my packet soon, so just be patient if you haven't heard yet.

By what means did you find out that you passed your psych? I was informed that we receive notification of pass by an invitation to the academy. Hey, either way good news is good news. I hope to see you there in April.

I had my psych about 7 weeks ago so I finally called Sacramento and they said I was just waiting for an invite. They also told me that they are only starting to put them in the mail as of Friday (2/2/07) so I'm hoping it shouldn't be more than another week or two.

Probably not the answer you want to hear, but just sit and wait. If you get a letter saying you failed, then you know. Otherwise, the next thing you should get is an invite to the next class.

As uoplax13 said, best to wait. When people talk about "Sacramento" they interchange the Cadet Hiring Unit and State Personnel Board -- both are involved in the final decisions and neither have the time to field calls from every applicant. Time spent answering calls is time away from informing everyone else of their status. I know it is difficult, but be patient -- we all went through the same thing.

Not directed at anyone in particular but for everyone,,, DO NOT CALL SACRAMENTO CADET HIRING!!!! They have much better and more important things to do right now.

My advice to you...

...prepare yourself in everyway possible...

...and then prepare to be unprepared!!!
