My question deals with the Background Investigation section of the process.
I am currently on active duty in the U.S. Navy and will be taking my agility and QAP in March. I will then deploy the following week for several months.
I would like to know if I score high enough to move on and the investigator trys to start my BI, can he begin it without me physically being here, or do I have to go through some kind of interview process? I can have all paperwork he might request faxed and sent to him or will he put me on the bottom of the list and wait until I return to begin the investigation?
Thanks for taking the time to read and answer. It is greatly appreciated.

It is likely your background investigation will be delayed until you are back in the area. Your Background Investigator will need to be able to communicate with you throughout the investigation. I'd contact the Division through which you are testing and let them know (after you get your QAP score) that you'll be deploying.

Thank you sir,
I was hoping I could still use that time for processing. I will notify my divisional recruiter following the reception of my QAP score.
Sir, if I began my investiogation upon return in October of this year could I complete the entire hiring process in time to be accepted into the January '08 class? Of course this would be best case scenario I am inquiring about.
If there is no decisive solution I completely understand.

Thank you.

I haven't even seen a schedule that includes a January '08 class, though we can assume it would be sometime around then. It is possible that you'd be in that class if everything goes well, but I think we're way too far out to make many predictions.
