Yup, the dispatcher(s). What you're seeing is one "log" that may have information coming in from multiple dispatchers. Most likely on an incident like this, one dispatcher is on the radio and several others "on the phones." And yes, dispatching is a very tough job. I have trouble keeping track of myself out there, let alone a dozen or more units. :shock:

For those who aren't aware, the above log came from http://cad.chp.ca.gov
This is a public gateway to our Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system -- the logs are filtered for content before published. Additionally, not all logs are listed. Generally, only traffic collisions, debris calls, and traffic advisories are available for the public to view. Logs relating to vehicle stops, crimes, etc... are only available from within the Department's network.

Also keep in mind that a lot of the information in the log is not displayed to the public (A lot more typing than you see).. Confidential information is blocked. I have sat in with dispatchers, and believe me, it is a tough job. They don?t get near enough credit for the amount of policy they have to know and the amount of multitasking they endure.
