Hello all, I'm new to the site and I must say, "It's GREAT". I had a question to ask some Vet's. of the Chp agency and the question is,: "When is the best time to approach a(n) officer in the field?" Because I would think lunch time would not be a good time, and during a citation would really be the wrong time to ask question's. So please reply and be easy on me I bleed easy.
THANKS

Are you asking as an officer who wants to approach a Chippie, or as a civilian?
As an officer, anytime is ok. As a civilian, it depends. If they are eating, just approach and ask if when they are finished with their meal, can you speak to them. It is part of the job to be interrupted when eating, but if you do it that way they will be more helpful. Don't approach an officer who is on a stop. The officer has enough to worry about as it is. Also, it is a violation to stop on the freeway unless it is an emergency. Have you considered going to a CHP office?
