View Full Version : Everything is Packed!

Everything is packed and ready to go for tomorrow. I have like 3 different lists of things to bring, which I consolodated into a spreadsheet. I went over the list this morning with my wife.
After closing my suitcase, I realized there were "other" compartments. I opened them to find women's undergarments, a woman's one-piece bathing suit, and "feminine" items. I am sooooo glad I removed them from my suitcase. Someone finding them in my posession at the academy would be very bad I'm sure.
We had a bunch of guys that could of used those in my Academy class:lol: Good luck and have fun, I guess it would be wrong for me to mention that I am leaving tomorrow for a 2 week camping trip to the mountains.....so I won't mention it. Have a good time and see you soon.

nellie...I am almost there as well. I am headed to church and then I only have a few last minute items ...it is all spread out on the table right now. Double check, triple check, 'what if' everything to death...very comical. I wish I could watch from the outside...I think I am Rainman...I'm a good driver, definitely on wednesdays, can I drive, I'm a good driver...
ya know I really haven't been nervous yet. I think tonight though I am going to have trouble sleeping due to the excitement. and of course tomorrow night we will al be shell shocked! I can't wait
 What do we have here...a jelly donut?!
 listen you maggot, I want heels together, hands pinned to the sides, back straight, eyes forward, you answer in 3 seconds or less...is that clear..
 now you're gonna polish those boots all night until I can see me reflection in them...and in the morning I dont want any black under those fingernails...you got it little man?!??!
oh and nellie...I hope those garments were your wifes! If not you are in sheep dip the night before you leave

With regards to the black finger nails; would it be considered good "strategy" if one were to bring a pair of yellow kitchen gloves to wear while one polishes their boots to keep the finger nails clean?
Or would the wrath not be worth it (if that sort of thing would bring wrath that is)?
Have fun and all the best to you folks that are starting tomorrow.
Dipmo, don't sweat it...that was a joke! And besides you can get the black out from the nails with some patience and bar soap. If you want to bring anything...throw a disposable latex (medical type) glove in your hygeine kit and use that for your waxing hand... I am just going with what I got...and old t-shirt swath and a can of polish (no gloves) and a brush. That and some patience will get the mirrored finish ;)
See ya tomorrow! I'll be the scared lookin guy...easy to spot I am sure

Over 31 years ago I started the journey you folks are on.
Day one hour one at the Academy we were (in those days) issued ID cards which we had to sign on the appropriate line. I of course signed on the wrong line causing a staff officer to say, "If you're are that F*&%$#@ stupid you just better turn around and go home A%^&*(!."
I didn't go home. I soldiered on, which is my best advice to each of you. Remember to not llet the small stuff get to you and in the end it is all small stuff. Thousands have gone before you. Good luck.

Well it's the end of day one and all our new Cadets are tucked away for the evening. Now I'd like to ask those of you who have been through the process, how did you feel at the end of your first day?

I would guess the people who have been in the military adapt to the lifestyle a little quicker than say some 20 year old kid who's on his/her first trip away from Mom and Dad's house?

I remember thinking, "Am I dreaming? After almost 2 years of going through this process am I really here?" For those of you that have been in the military, I?m sure it won?t shock you as much. I kinda felt like it was my first day of a 6 month long prison sentence. I also felt like I was doing everything wrong, no matter what I did.
I got a feeling that we wont be hearing from these guys for a while. The last thing on my mind would be posting anything affiliated with the CHP on a web site while in the academy. They will make you feel like it would be a felony.

I've got a feeling we will hear from some of the guys on weekends with questions.

They will need to be careful of what they ask. The eyes and ears of the Staff Office reach far and wide.

One would think that of course. But if something in appropriate is discussed here and it is apparent that it has come from a cadet, the whole class will pay.

Numb.
