Received my QAP score today, honestly I am discouraged (received 80). My last experience w/ the Oral board I scored 85 and recieved conditional hire (DQ during BI for nondisclosure as juvenile). Should I assume, that because I did not receive conditional hire w/ my QAP score letter today, that the 80 was not enough to move on? During my last experience, applicants that scored 85 and above, moved on. Can someone tell me for sure; what I already assume (that I need to start over again). Also, can one of the officers or applicants w/ experience tell me why my QAP score went down. I felt really positive about the QAP process. I felt I nailed all the questions, and had excellent responses. Does the QAP panel check your previous score to help determine what score they will give an applicant? If not, I beleive they should. Other wise an applicant could be going in circles trying to get a passing score. I know this is a process to acheive a CAREER, and I will do what ever it takes to finally get to the Academy. However, sometimes the process the CHP uses to detrmine hirement eligibility can be frustrating. Thanks for listening.

The letter with a conditional commitment to hire comes out in a second letter. The first letter goes out to everyone with their score. You may receive a letter in a few weeks. As fas as I know, 80's still move forward.

No one can tell you anything for sure. Wait a few weeks and then contact your local recruiter.
Also, can one of the officers or applicants w/ experience tell me why my QAP score went down.
There are numerous reasons and none of us were on your panel. Remember the entire interview is rated, from the time you walk in until the time you walk out.

The QAP panel rates you on what you tell them.

Patience is a good quality to posses.

I received my QAP results today from Valley as well. I passed with a 95 and not get a conditional hire letter. It will come, like everything with the process just be patient. Congrats!

what is the conditional hire letter?
what is the conditional hire letter? It is a conditional offer of employment based on your successful completion of the remaining steps -- backgrounds, medical, and the psychological screening. In essence, we're saying that as long as you are successful in those portions, we will extend a job offer.
