While having coffee with a couple of my partners the other night, we were standing at our cars in the parking lot of an all-night gas station. A woman pulled up to the pumps and started fueling her car, and out of the corner of my eye I noted her poor judgment as she lit a cigarette while pumping gas. Just as I was about to comment on it, she pulled the nozzle out of her car to hang it back up and spilled gasoline on the hand and arm holding her cigarette. The gas, of course, immediately ignited. She panicked, screamed, and began running towards us, waving her flaming arm and shouting for help. One of my partners set his coffee cup down on the hood, drew his gun and put three rounds into her, dropping her dead in her tracks. I was aghast, and yelled "What are you doing? Why the hell did you shoot her, man?!?".

He replied "She was brandishing a fire arm!"

"While having coffee with a couple of my partners the other night,..."

Obviously your area lacks a SOP on how many can be at a coffee spot.................

I was on patrol one night in a relatively crime free area of our county. Some guy decided to try and beat the train and ran the crossing. But the train hit his car and severed his arm. I was the only cop around but there was a fisherman returning home after surf fishing and as luck would have it, he had a cooler full of ice but no fish in it. I yelled at him to bring the cooler over and I removed the severed arm, placed it into the iced cooler, then returned to perform first aid on the victim who was losing a lot of blood with the help of some really shocked by standers. I even had one of the civilians use my police radio telling him what to say. As we were awaiting paramedics, first-aid and fire services, some idiot stole the cooler and started running down the street. I couldn't believe my eyes. I told the by standers to stay with the accident victim while I pursued the cooler thief on foot, I only had to run two blocks to catch him because the cooler was heavy with ice and a severed arm. I tackled the idiot, cuffed him and ultimately brought him back to police HQ's in the town that I was in for processing. He wanted to know what I was charging him with and I told him.......arm robbery.
