.....am I the only regular visitor in this forum that has no affiliation past, present or future with the CHP? One of the things I enjoy about being here is the mix of people but I don't recall anyone other than myself saying anything about not being in the patrol. Gezz, please tell me that's not the case.

SB405,
Just wondering...what do you do for a living? That is if you want to share that information. Anyway, I think even if I wasn't going to become a CHP officer, I would still be interested in all of the information in this forum. I think it's great that you are so involved here and can share the positive attitude of the CHP with others.

I work in the Hospitality Business (hotel management to be a little more exact) and have been for almost 25 years. I've always found law enforcement interesting and thought about it as a career way back when. I've always had a lot of respect for the people who choose it as a career. I also enjoy learning as much as I can.
As far as "regular" contributors, it looks like you're it! I'm sure there are a few lurkers, but nobody else who posts regularly.
I, for one, can say that I appreciate there being members here who aren't affiliated with the department that enjoy participating and learning. Your questions and comments are insightful and thought-provoking, and it's nice to see another perspective to the issues discussed here.

That's what I was thinking Mac. I mean look at what we have here.....Retired guys, guys currently on the job, guys just entering the academy and me John Q Public. Sounds like we have everything covered. I can't wait to start hearing the stories from the new academy members once they get rollin'. And something tells me they get rolling from day 1.

Hey SB. I'm sort of in that category. I will be applying to the CHP but my primary goal is to be a LE officer. If I turn out not to be CHP material, I will try to get hired somewhere else.
I'm sure there are more regular visitors lurking, just not posting. It seems there are always one or more guests on the forum.

I have been visiting this site and the CHP Officers Network for about 6 months now...I guess that qualifies as me as one of those non-officers lurking. This forum is really cool...I am not a CHP Officer, but I was a Reserve Police Officer for 16 years and was really happy with the excellent relationship we had with our CHP office. In my current job, I continue to work almost daily with our local CHP officers and the relationship continues to be great. Keep up the good work!!!
yeah SB 405...I'll be one of the ones who keeps you entertained with the "stories" from day one and on from there...glad to have you here.
