Review the Applicant Study Guide available from http://www.chp.ca.gov. The ASG and the Learning Express book offer the best study material to get your brain wrapped around the type of test. If you don't see a particular test type in there, then you probably won't see it in the actual written test battery. I actually studied very little for the written. I took the sample tests, scored fairly well, and just went and took the real thing. I feel I did better on the actual test than I did taking the samples. I had a lot riding on the real test. I read each question several times before trying to answer it. Don't rush is my best advice and take advantage of the time they give you. Don't be embarassed to be the last one sitting at your table.
