Hey, I just got pulled over for my registration being a month expired...my question is, what is the fee for late renewal? I normally pay $86 a year, I know that there is a fee, I'm just hoping its not going to cost an arm and a leg.

That's a DMV issue, determined by the amount of your renewal fee. Not something we handle or can answer on this forum. Contact the DMV. Try to remember that the CHP and DMV are not under the same department. In some remote locations the DMV and CHP may be housed in the same state facility but that's about it.

With that in mind, I just received my renewal notice and it has late fees listed on it based on how late it might be. I'm sure it's a percentage but, again, DMV issues are NOT issues we address on this forum. Sorry.

My bad. I was just wondering. Yeah I just got a notice too, its like 138 to get it renewed. Not bad...i thought it would have been a lot more.
