Alright...here's the Scenerio:
Alright it's approxminatly 0130, and you're on graveyard, obviously...you are on a freeway, where its posted 70 MPH speedlimit. You are suddenly passed by three cars ranging from speeds from 95-105. Which car do you pick? What's the plan of action?
- This question came up when I was in traffic school years ago. The officer has a pretty good plan, what are some of yours?

Sign up the driver who is dumb enough to stop and put out the info for anyone who might be ahead of the other two. That is, unless they are all good citizens and all come to a stop. Then you thank them all for their cooperation, followed by "Sign hard, four copies".
Actually, sounds like a tactics question. You may not get a response.

Chase them all and PIT them off onto the shoulder one by one.

I like this way of thinking.

1:30 AM.............only about 20 minutes before the bars close and the dueces hit the street. Get a quick cup of coffee and head for the wet zone................

Exactly. What would you be doing on the freeway chasing speed at 0130 when there are deuces to be hooked?!?!?

Or take the leader and hope he's deuce. No easier arrest report to write.

At that time of night there would seem to be some definite officer safety issues.
Two officers versus one car looks like much better odds than two officers against the occupants of three cars. I can see a pucker factor if they pulled over in front of and behind the patrol car.

Aren't high speed chases normal for southern California? I'd notify dispatch and chase em'. One would hit a retaining wall or loose control sooner or later.

Hmm ... I sure hope that you are joking!
Off subject, but, JMuZz87, how about resizing that picture? It can be a bit harsh on the old eyes when scrolling through a thread that you are involved in. ;)

Is that an actual picture? I was under the impression it was a cartoon character of a DI screaming at a cartoon character of a recruit.
Being a CHP officer is not about being a caricature. It is about being a mature, responsible adult. One who has been vetted by a well established process and then has received a lot of training including on the job training called break-in.
It is real life and a lot of you on this board need to get a grip. I have said before and I now say again:
You can get a flavor of a potential cadet by simply reading the posts put on this board. I never sat on a QAP, but I sincerely believe that I could weed out some potential applicants based on what they say and how they say it on this board.
Now think before you respond to this post....if you were going to respond...and my bet is you won't be able to help yourself. Let it fly.

Some people know how to turn on the adult attitude when they get in front of the QAP panel. Then again, your time on the streets may have taught you a thing or two about seeing through those types. < - non-sarcastic statement.
By the way, I think that picture may be of himself.

I dont know how to resize the picture...I'll try...I've got a few friends in photo-editing and digital photography. Let me tell you though, the picture I put on here, depicts what I believe in. You have to have structure, wether or not someone can give that to you, is all up to the path you take in life. What I do day to day, effects hundreds, if not a thousand or so people.
I'm the maker not the breaker, even though it may not seem like it. But, I'm ready for a career change, long hours, and lots of yelling is harsh on the voice, and sore on the limbs.

Something else you may look into, and not being an ass, but free downloads like Googles Toolbar (http://www.google.com/tools/firefox/toolbar/index.html) help with simple spell check errors. Just trying to help.
