Anybody who is applying should try their best to get to one of these. They give you a very well rounded 'heads up'. I can tell you that when I showed up for my written test, one could tell who had been to a seminar and who hadn't, and so could the officers.

Well worth your time.

How long is the seminar? I know this is last minute but I work around the corner from the San Francisco office and my wife has to wait for me.

Do I need to bring anything?

I attended two CHP seminars and it was very helpful. The seminar should be about 1.5 hours, depending if there are a lot of questions. Attending a seminar is like going on a ride along...it's your choice, but you have ask yourself, how bad do you want to become a CHP officer...

That is exactly why I want to go. I'm trying to soak up as much information as I can to make it to the academy.

Thanks

Does your background investigation generally go faster when you re-apply after receiving a disqualification?

Depends on how much your first background investigator completed. I don't know if this applies here, but if someone is DQ'd for a judgment issue, I would not recommed dropping in your application immediatelly following the DQ. Take some time to demonstrate your judgment has improved.
