I had a warning given to me for not making a complete stop at a stop sign. The officer wrote up a warning and gave it to me. Is this considered a citation even though there was no penalty or fees? And one last note on the PHS, im in the border division, when is the PHS due? In the paperwork it says nothing of when its due, I have read on the forums that alot of canidates are turning their's in at the PAT. THe only instructions regarding the PAT where to turn in the STD 678 (employment verification form) and the 446F (arrest/citation form) but nothing regarding the completed 446 phs packet.

List it...and WOW them with how open & honest you are!

A note about the forms you bring to the PAT: have them in a big envelope or a manila folder or something. You'll be carrying them around all day in your sweaty hand, you'll be sticking them under a rock so they don't blow away during your run, they'll be on the gym floor during your varisou indoor doo-dad tests. You won't be handing them in until the end of the day, when they're good & yucky looking!

I'm from the border division and I was told to send my phs to San Diego by Friday. (i was notified by letter on that Tuesday). I sent my PHS to CHP via UPS, it got there A-OK.

well I still havnt gotten my results from the written test, but the PAT is in less than 2 weeks. Regardless Ive been doing the PHS anyway just in case it is due without notice. But theres nothing about when the phs is due in any of my paperwork. Im going to ask during the qap seminar coming up. I figured it would be a uniformed process but every sector seems to have a different process

when i received my phs packet in the mail, it stated that if there was no due by date, then it needed to be returned within 7 days of the post mark date, i am in the inland division so i am not sure if that helps you or not.

good luck

I'm also in border, and I received my PHS a few days ago in the mail. I've passed the written before, so I'm not sure if they had to mail it specially to me or if they handed it out at the conclusion of the written, or with the written test results.

Anyway, it included a letter which told me to bring my completed PHS (446) with me to the PAT. I don't imagine it'd be different for those who just took the written, but who knows? I'll just do as the letter asks and bring mine to the PAT on the 16th.

I received my phs after completing the written test, but in the packet it just stated to bring the 446F and the STD678 to the PAT. Nothing about the PHS

My letter says to bring the STD 678, CHP 446F, and CHP 446 to the PAT. At least you won't be the only one bringing it there!

As for when to turn in your PHS, you need to contact a Border Division recruiter or ask at the seminar.

Regarding the "written warning." What agency issued it? I am not aware of any departments in California that have such a process -- there certainly isn't anything universal.

DW, I have gotten a "written warning" from a S.O. in SoCal, and they gave me a pink copy and not a yellow copy.

well i KNOW i made a complete stop but i wasnt going to argue it so i just sat in my car waiting for the ticket, the officer came up and told me this was a warning and handed me the yellow copy. Me being confused asked what I had to do, officer said theres nothing to do because it was just a warning.

I'll bet the officer KNOWS that you didn't make a complete stop. You did the right thing by not arguing and let him/her get their stat for the day.
If the officer gave you a pink copy, then the original is somewhere just waiting for a background investigator to find. As pupdog recommends, list it and explain during your interview. Better safe than sorry.

well theres no point in arguing, whats done is done, i have my reasons as to why i know i stopped but if the officer believes i didnt then il take his word against mind and just settle for the fact that i didnt. Im going to list it anyway, including my j-walking ticket i had when i was like 13 haha, i wonder what they will say about that one
