That's good to know. I may be getting ahead of myself here, but I like to plan well in advance of any unforeseen problems.
I also still have some military mentality. Arrive 30 min early, etc.
Also I'm a believer in MURPHY'S LAW.

Does anyone know how many days one would get after graduating the academy?
How many days are given before they report to their first duty station?
Thanks

My husband had 10 days..He graduated on a Friday(April 22) and had to report not the following Monday, but the one after(May 2)...
Nine days off. A new officer will graduate on a Friday, have the next nine off, and report the following Monday.

I guess that's a good thing, since he/she have to find a place to live.
I wonder if many officer's become roommates (Apartment) since they are unable to go home. Meaning, they are working to far from home and decide to get an apartment in the area they are working. Many, like me have an apartment with a girlfriend and children and she is unable to move-I'll make the best of it somehow.
Most Cadets have located a place to live by graduation. The time off is to move if necessary and, of course, start learning the region. It is not uncommon for new officers to share an apartment somewhere.

You'll know where you going a month or so before you graduate and should have the weekends to find a place in your new area before you graduate. Not all areas do, but we normally send a "welcome" packet with rental information, area information, and the training Sergeant's expectations to help you get prepared for your break in period.
