I'm completely confused by your post.

Are you talking about the QAP or the inital interview with your BI?

Were you DQ'd before and now you are retrying? Was this practice with some recruit officer?

...and I am not talking about Dairy Queen.

Had my Oral Interview today ;

Got in the room and had been sitting their approx. 45 seconds, stated my name and recieved the words "DQ" ... My head was suddenly spinning.

I took the option of going thru the oral interview even though I had been DQ'd to make sure that when I re-apply I have a practice round under my belt.

At the end of my practice interview ; they told me I would've made it - the oral interview went exceptionally well - and not to get discouraged they want me to reapply and keep going after it.

Good luck to everyone else.

They said if you are going to get DQ'd you'll know off the bat. They are understanding, good people.

I will just keep it breif and say they based the DQ off volunteered disclosed information from the past.

Ahh, I see. The good news is, they won't waste your time with the rest of the process. Im sure they told you when you could reapply and do it all over again? Don't get discouraged. I've done the thing twice before being informed they took my first QAP score. And if I get DQ'd in the BI I will no doubt do it all over again

If you are young like I, (23), You've got time

WHat happened? Why did they DQ you so fast???

Some questions are inappropriate and nobody elses business. You'll learn that with age.

Just remember, if this process was easy then you won't appreciate the hardwork and dedication to become a CHP officer. Keep your head up, stay clean, and move forward.

Thanks everyone; I am not giving up. Just a hurdle in a large process of many.

I told them during the interview I completley understood their reasoning - theirs no hard feelings. I told them I would be back.

They are good people; they have been around the block, they know what it takes and I wouldn't want them to settle for anything less then the best. I will now have a feeling of being the "best" when I get my acceptance. As stated it was a minor problem/discrepency; and just hearing them tell me from the "practice" Round Oral Interview that I have what it takes; is like going to Chevron and filling your Lifted 4x4 Excursion with gas.....for FREE (meaning its a great feeling...)

My heads up...ill be their eventually.

I know that you have heard it enough, but I too was there in your shoes last November. Honesty is the only way to go even though it may get you DQ'd now it will pay off in life.
